Who we are
floor16.com is run by Floor 16 Technologies Inc., a company based in Canada. When this page says “we” or “us”, it means Floor 16 Technologies Inc. Questions about your information go to info@floor16.com.
What we collect, and why
When you book the Scan. The form asks for your work email and your company size, and you can add your name, your company and a message. We use them only to reply, arrange the Scan and, if you become a client, to run the work. They are stored in our own Microsoft 365, alongside our client email and files.
When you visit. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they found us, so we can make the site more useful. It uses cookies and records things like the pages you view, how long you stay, your type of device and browser, and your approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address, which Google does not store). It does not tell us who you are. Google keeps this data for no longer than 14 months under our settings.
Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to fetch them.
What we don’t collect
The tools on this site. The calculators, sorters and demos in Try it, the Toolkit and Field Notes run entirely in your browser. What you type or click in them is not sent to us or anyone else, and it is gone when you leave the page.
The app demos. The live demos use made-up data for a company that does not exist. Anything you change in them stays in your browser.
We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other sites, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask.
Who else sees it
We never sell or rent your information. Two companies handle it on our behalf:
- Microsoft hosts the website and the form that receives bookings (Azure), and our email and files (Microsoft 365).
- Google provides Analytics and the site’s fonts.
We share information beyond that only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Booking details are kept while we are talking with you and, if you become a client, for as long as the work and our records require. If we don’t end up working together, we delete them within 12 months of our last contact, or sooner if you ask.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it or delete it. Email info@floor16.com and we will reply within 30 days.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn off Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.
We handle personal information under Canada’s federal privacy law (PIPEDA). If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
